Thor

THOR'S STORY

Thor was born in France and came to Senegal when he was just a puppy to be Pia's partner after my daughter had settled there. Never had I witnessed two dogs so bonded and close. Thor always tended lovingly to Pia, usually licking and kissing her ears. They would often nap together and enjoyed being in each other's company. 

Pia and Thor had four puppies -- all boys. 

Winston-Balou, Mambo, Vigo, and Poa.

A friend took the two black eared ones, Mambo and Poa, and Vigo and Winston-Balou stayed with us. 

Both got Parvo at 9 weeks and Vigo died in under 48 hours. Winston-Balou was very ill, and nearly died a few times. He had to be hospitalized and struggled mightily to recover his health. During that time, Thor took great care of him. He watched over him and kept him company as he very slowly recovered.

Once Winston-Balou was fully recovered, we decided to bring everyone back to France: 4 dogs along with 3 cats. It was quite complicated and expensive. My daughter moved out of the house in Senegal and the four-legged ones went into a boarding facility run by a lovely French couple for three months until their paperwork was ready. 

The cost of moving was very high. And so was bringing all the animals back to France -- one by one they returned. Thor is the last one to come home. In part because his paperwork stalled, then further delayed. However after all the previous expenses, we had also run short on funds after the other 6 came home. Now we are faced with costs that are too high to manage. The boarding facility, all the vaccinations, health certificates, transport back to France... 

Our goal is to raise those funds here. Within the week if possible. A wonderful friend of mine is returning from Senegal next week and can bring Thor back with her. So now there is a deadline of May 22nd to complete this raise.

So we must act quickly.  

The funding goal is $4,000 to bring Thor home. 

The vet will not release the health certificate without payment so he will not be able to fly.

This fundraiser will pay for;

       * Boarding of all the animals, and lastly Thor.

       *Thor's vet bill which includes his

            - rabies vaccination

            - the lab test results for international health certificate 

            - the health certificate signed by the vet... 

        * transportation to the airport

        * Thor's flight from Senegal back to France.
